LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD ON THE PROPOSED

LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD ON THE PROPOSED GAS TAX INCREASE
TONIGHT 6:00 P.M., Central Valley High School, Spokane Valley

1. This would likely make Washington the highest gas tax in the nation;
2. There is a 25 cent per gallon difference between Coeur d’ Alene and Spokane Valley as of Thursday Sept. 19th (CDA was $3.50 and in Spokane Valley $3.75);
3. Washington would spend more for bicycle and pedestrian paths than the U.S. 395/North Spokane Corridor while:
4. WSDOT built a ramp in the wrong place in Tacoma;
5. WSDOT built a 520 bridge that may not float that is now literally glued together;
6. WSDOT built a ferry that can’t float right (the “Ilene Class”); and last but not least
7. The GAS TAX INCREASE IS OPPOSED BY SMALL BUSINESS:
Here are the results of an NFIB Survey:
Under what circumstances would you support a gas tax increase?
None whatsoever, 62 percent
Reforms first, then increase the tax, 33 percent
With or without reforms, more transportation spending is needed, 2 percent
Reforms are not needed, more transportation spending is needed, 2 percent
Undecided 1 percent
